Basketball Game Preview: Springville Orioles vs. Edgewood-Colesburg Vikings

Springville is 8-2 against Edgewood-Colesburg since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:45 p.m. One thing working in Springville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Springville easily dispatched Starmont two weeks ago, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Springville fell just short of Alburnett by a score of 60-58 last Friday. The Orioles have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Edgewood-Colesburg, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They took their game last Friday with ease, bagging a 68-31 win over Starmont. The matchup marked the Vikings' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Edgewood-Colesburg has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points per game. As for Springville, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
