Luke Cuellar Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
Starting off the list is Thomas Jefferson's Luke Cuellar, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Thursday Cuellar rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also threw for 135 yards on only ten passes, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 68 yards.
Thomas Jefferson moved to 3-4 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. They and Aurora Central are set to duel on Saturday.

Chineth Made His Presence Known in Northfield's 61-7 Win
Winning always takes teamwork, but on Thursday Zavious Chineth stepped things up a notch to give Northfield the 'W'. Chineth was dynamite, rushing for 93 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 16 yards and a touchdown.
Northfield's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4. Chineth and Northfield will take on Denver North at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Dwyer Came Up Big in George Washington's 28-0 Victory
George Washington found a leader in Hayes Dwyer as the team took down Aurora Central on Thursday. Dwyer turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 89 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, while also throwing for 147 yards on 11 of 19 attempts.
Aurora Central had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Dwyer it was a similar story. When Dwyer last faced the Trojans back in September of 2023, he threw for 247 yards and four touchdowns on only 18 passes.

Sean Lindegren put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in September of 2023 on Thursday. He rushed for 31 yards and two touchdowns. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making six total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending a pass.
On the year, Lindegren has averaged 6.7 total tackles per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 0.86 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 6.14 rushing yards.
