Preview: Bryn Mawr Mawrtians vs. Mount de Sales Academy Sailors
The Bryn Mawr Mawrtians will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Mount de Sales Academy Sailors at 4:15 p.m.
Last Tuesday, Bryn Mawr was the victim of a rough 60-40 loss at the hands of Gerstell Academy. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bryn Mawr in their matchups with Gerstell Academy: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Mount de Sales Academy waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They strolled past St. Paul's Girls with points to spare, taking the game 45-31.
It was another big night for Shelby Lewis, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Ella Powers, who scored eight points along with five steals.
Bryn Mawr dropped their record down to 3-3 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Mount de Sales Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Bryn Mawr came up short against Mount de Sales Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 45-35. Thankfully for Bryn Mawr, Caroline Sloop (who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
