Basketball Recap: St. Cloud Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If St. Cloud was riding high fresh off their 45-15 takedown of Poinciana last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The St. Cloud Bulldogs fell 52-42 to the Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Tigers are ranked 28th).

Loss or not, St. Cloud got some senior leadership from Savannah Kroener and Arianna Viera. Kroener went 7 of 16 en route to 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Viera posted 19 points and three steals. The match was Viera's sixth in a row with at least ten points.

Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kylie Green out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. Green is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jadalynn Morel, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.

St. Cloud's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-8. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-6.

St. Cloud has already played their next contest, a 63-51 win against Merritt Island Christian on the 1st. Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
