St. Joseph Academy waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victor by a 9-1 margin over the St. Augustine Yellow Jackets. The Flashes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.

Jacob Guthmiller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up eight Ks. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February.

On the hitting side, Camden Biskup was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Dayton Taylor was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

St. Joseph Academy pushed their record up to 12-1-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for St. Augustine, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.

Coming up, St. Joseph Academy will challenge Union County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Joseph Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Union County's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for St. Augustine, they will face off against Lincoln at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
