Softball Game Preview: Providence School Stallions vs. Bolles Bulldogs

The Providence School Stallions are taking a road trip to face off against the Bolles Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Providence School's hitters haven't had much luck over their past five matchups, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Providence School came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Clay, falling 7-1.

Ava Dimitrakopolis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Providence School saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayleigh Cardona, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Abby Batsch also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Bolles lost 21-7 to Columbia on Monday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leighton Dostie was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Providence School's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Bolles, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-16.

Everything went Providence School's way against Bolles when the teams last played back in March of 2019, as Providence School made off with a 9-2 victory. Will the Stallions repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
