Recap: Kemp Yellowjackets vs. Teague Lions
The Kemp Yellowjackets''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 50-0 defeat at the hands of Teague. While losing is never fun, Kemp can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1023rd, while Teague is ranked 425th).
Huston Cromer threw for 33 yards on only three passes. Jayden Freeman was his top target, picking up 33 receiving yards.
Kemp's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-0 Malakoff and 8-1 Westwood (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 76.7% over those games). As for Teague, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Kemp will head out on the road to face off against Eustace at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Eustace comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Teague, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Fairfield at 7:30 p.m.
