Cheyenne Wells had won eight straight games and Corey Hill did his part to make it nine on Friday. The Cheyenne Wells Tigers came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 51-45 W against the Eads Eagles thanks to Hill, who almost dropped a double-double with 25 points and nine boards. He has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 45 times he's played.

Another player making a difference was Taegan Eiring, who posted 11 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Stockton Mitchek, who put up 19 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Mitchek a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (50%). Karsten Buller was another key player, putting up nine points.

Cheyenne Wells' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points over those games. As for Eads, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Cheyenne Wells has already played their next game, a 49-29 win against Swink on the 15th. As for Eads, they will challenge Genoa-Hugo/Karval at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
