Kimball and Aubrey squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Kimball had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Aubrey Chaparrals by a score of 35-33. It was the first time this season that the Knights let down their fans at home.
Kimball's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Armirie Williams-Hall, who rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 75 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. That's the most rushing yards Williams-Hall has posted since back in November of 2023. Another pass catcher making a difference was Camrin Jackson, who picked up 78 receiving yards and a touchdown.
With the defeat, Kimball broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-3. As for Aubrey, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
