Softball Game Preview: Arts Jaguars vs. Irvington Blue Knights

Arts and Irvington are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Jaguars will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Blue Knights at 4:00 p.m. Arts has given up an average of 22.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Arts is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They lost 30-2 to St. Vincent Academy.

Meanwhile, Irvington made easy work of West Side on Wednesday and carried off a 24-11 victory. The win continues a trend for the Blue Knights in their matchups with the Roughriders: they've now won three in a row.

The victory got Irvington back to even at 1-1. As for Arts, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Everything went Arts' way against Irvington in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Arts made off with a 26-15 win. Will the Jaguars repeat their success, or do the Blue Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
