Softball Recap: Bethlehem Catholic Comes Up Short

Bethlehem Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 14-11 to the Pleasant Valley Bears. Even if the Golden Hawks couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Isabelle Borsuk was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Ava Dech, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Bethlehem Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Pleasant Valley, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-9 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bethlehem Catholic will welcome Nazareth Area at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pleasant Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southern Lehigh at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
