Softball Recap: Valley View Takes a Loss

Valley View lost against Carlisle back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Spartans fell just short of the Indians by a score of 11-10. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lily Bell and Brelynn Riley stepped up to the plate in a big way. Bell went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Riley scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Reese Riley, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Valley View's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-1. As for Carlisle, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-9 record.

Coming up, Valley View will square off against Dixie at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Spartans are facing the Greyhounds at the right time seeing as the Greyhounds are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Carlisle, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Goshen at 5:15 p.m.
