Softball Game Preview: El Cajon Valley Braves vs. Lincoln Hornets

The El Cajon Valley Braves will venture away from home to face off against the Lincoln Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: El Cajon Valley has struggled recently with six defeats in a row, while Lincoln will arrive with four straight wins.

Friday just wasn't the day for El Cajon Valley's offense. They came up short against Helix on Friday, falling 18-0.

Lincoln came out on top against High Tech SD on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run fifth inning. The Hornets put the hurt on the Storm with a sharp 20-3 victory. Considering the Hornets have won ten games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

El Cajon Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Lincoln, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

El Cajon Valley might still be hurting after the 28-3 defeat they got from Lincoln in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Braves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
