A feisty cat fight will be fought as Del Campo Cougars take on Roseville Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Del Campo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Del Campo turned things around against Nevada Union on Thursday. They skirted past the Miners 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since May 7, 2024.

Issabella Sanchez was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaydence Apodaca, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Del Campo hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 3-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Roseville's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Nicolaus on Wednesday.

Del Campo's record now sits at 4-5. As for Roseville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Roseville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Del Campo has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .453. It's a different story for Roseville, though, as they've only averaged .327. Will they be able to contain Del Campo's hitters?

Del Campo might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Roseville when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Del Campo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
