Basketball Recap: Robertsdale Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Skyler Washington and Anthony Carmichael

Robertsdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 55-38 bruising from the Spain Park Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Golden Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Jaguars are ranked 128th).

Anthony Carmichael and Skyler Washington certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Carmichael went 5 for 7 on his way to 10 points and six rebounds, while Washington posted ten points and three steals.

Robertsdale's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Spain Park, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Robertsdale will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cottage Hill Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Spain Park, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Spain Park Jaguars take on the Clay-Chalkville Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Clay-Chalkville will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Spain Park surely won't give up without a fight.
