Baseball Game Preview: McCurtain Bulldogs vs. Webbers Falls Warriors

McCurtain and Webbers Falls are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McCurtain has given up an average of 8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for McCurtain after they put the first runs on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 11-2 to Leflore. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Savages recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Jackson Blaylock put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Webbers Falls fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Keota on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They came up short against the Lions, falling 24-17. On the bright side, the 17- run performance marked the Warriors' highest-scoring game to date.

McCurtain's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Webbers Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12-1.

McCurtain skirted past Webbers Falls 6-5 in their previous matchup back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
