Basketball Recap: Twiggs County Comes Up Short

Twiggs County won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Saturday. They came up short against the Peach County Trojans, falling 47-27.

When it comes to explaining why Twiggs County lost, don't look at Jaida Pearson. Despite the final result, she went 6 for 14 on her way to 16 points and three steals. Pearson has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Adavia Ford, who posted seven points.

Twiggs County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Peach County, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Twiggs County will head out to square off against Thomson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Thomson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.5 points per game this season. As for Peach County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Taylor County at 6:00 p.m. Taylor County will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Peach County surely won't give up without a fight.
