Volleyball Recap: Centennial Falls Short Against Ranked Spring Lake Park

Centennial faced Spring Lake Park in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Cougars came up short against the Panthers, falling 3-0. The Cougars just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row dating back to last season.

While Centennial was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Spring Lake Park's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-16, 25-23.

Among those leading the charge was Hector Ly, who had 20 assists and seven digs. Ly is crushing it when it comes to assists: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season.

Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Spring Lake Park, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Centennial will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Maple Grove at 7:30 p.m. on the 28th. As for Spring Lake Park, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Mounds View on the 21st.
