Soccer Recap: Petal Makes It Three in a Row at Home

Petal's game two weeks ago was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They never let the Poplarville Hornets onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in November of 2024.

Aniya Carter and Emerson White scored both of Petal's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 17 goals.

Petal's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those three matchups. As for Poplarville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10-2 record this season.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Petal face off against the Northwest Rankin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Northwest Rankin will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Petal surely won't give up without a fight. Poplarville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
