Softball Recap: Lake Highland Prep Takes a Loss

Lake Highland Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 15-3 to the Bishop Moore Hornets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Highlanders of the 11-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Alina Shaikh was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in both of her plate appearances. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game.

Lake Highland Prep's record now sits at 2-8. As for Bishop Moore, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.

Looking ahead, Lake Highland Prep will be playing at home against Trinity Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Saints' pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so the Highlanders' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bishop Moore, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 14-5 loss against Harmony on the 2nd.
