Chase Moore leads a balanced attack to beat Leetonia

Recap: Mineral Ridge Rams vs. Leetonia Bears

After losing to the Leetonia Bears the last time they met, the Mineral Ridge Rams decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Mineral Ridge came out on top against Leetonia by a score of 58-48 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mineral Ridge.

Mineral Ridge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Moore, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. The match was Moore's third in a row with at least ten points. Julian Rozzi was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carson Brock, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Brock scored a full 31.3% of Leetonia's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Johns, who scored ten points along with three steals.

Mineral Ridge's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-4. As for Leetonia, their defeat was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-8.

Mineral Ridge will square off against Columbiana at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbiana is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60.1 points per game. As for Leetonia, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Lordstown at 6:15 p.m. Lordstown comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
