Basketball Game Preview: North Miami Pioneers vs. Hialeah Thoroughbreds

The North Miami Pioneers will take on the Hialeah Thoroughbreds at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Hialeah is hoping to do what Miami Springs couldn't on Tuesday: put an end to North Miami's winning streak, which now stands at three games. North Miami strolled past Miami Springs with points to spare, taking the game 59-45.

Jonathan Joseph continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Alex Jean-Jacques was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Hialeah didn't have too much trouble with Hialeah-Miami Lakes on Tuesday as they won 59-40.

North Miami pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Hialeah, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

North Miami lost to Hialeah at home by a decisive 62-44 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can North Miami avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
