Softball Recap: Westfield Extends Winning Streak to Three

Westfield won against Tuscarora last Thursday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Westfield beat the Forest Park Bruins by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 14-13. The Bulldogs' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Morgan Mills was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. Mills was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two).

In other batting news, Rylee Schmid was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ciara Ramsey, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Westfield's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Forest Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westfield will square off against Yorktown at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Forest Park, they will head out to square off against Charles J. Colgan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
