Basketball Recap: Dan Babber Key Part of a Team Effort in Wolverines Win

Northwest Christian's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Quilcene Rangers by a score of 60-49. This was a revenge game for the Wolverines: when they faced off against the Rangers last Friday, they had to take a 61-58 defeat.

Northwest Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dan Babber, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 23 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Babber has scored at least a third of Northwest Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Vahey, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds.

Northwest Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Northwest Christian now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Quilcene, they suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 6-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest Christian will head out to square off against Concordia Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Northwest Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season. As for Quilcene, they will head out on the road to take on Sound Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Sound Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Quilcene likes a good challenge.
