Baseball Game Preview: Torres Toros vs. Roosevelt Rough Riders

For the second straight game, Torres will face off against Roosevelt. The Toros will head out to square off against the Rough Riders at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Torres is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Torres came up short against Roosevelt on Tuesday, falling 10-1.

For Roosevelt's part, Xamuel Cerrato and David Meza were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Cerrato pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Meza didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. At bat, Cerrato went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Meza scored a run while going 2-for-5. Those two hits gave Cerrato a new career-high.

In other batting news, Manny Molano was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brian Roberson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Torres' defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Roosevelt, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-6-1.
