Softball Game Preview: Janesville Parker Vikings vs. Verona Wildcats

Janesville Parker hasn't had much luck against Verona recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Vikings will face off against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m.

Janesville Parker came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 8-2 to Waunakee.

Lilly Keller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and five unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kenedi Pryne made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Donnavee Kong also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last match, Verona made sure to put some runs up on the board against Sun Prairie West on Thursday. The Wildcats blew past the Wolves 11-4. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won four in a row.

Janesville Parker's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Verona, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.

Janesville Parker came up short against Verona in their previous meeting back in April, falling 7-2. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
