Soccer Game Preview: Second Baptist vs. Lutheran South Academy

Second Baptist is 2-8 against Lutheran South Academy since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Second Baptist Eagles will host the Lutheran South Academy Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Back in January, Second Baptist was able to grind out a solid win over Houston Christian, taking the game 5-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Lutheran South Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 6-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of International Leadership of Texas Katy Westpark. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 512th, while the Eagles are ranked 63rd).

Second Baptist now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Lutheran South Academy, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-11-2.

Second Baptist suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Lutheran South Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Second Baptist avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
