Football Recap: Custer County Bobcats vs. Sangre de Cristo Thunderbirds
Custer County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 54-16 loss at the hands of the Sangre de Cristo Thunderbirds. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 46-14 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2017.
Custer County's loss came despite strong showings from Agi Thomas and Wyatt Grundy. Thomas picked up 195 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Grundy gained 140 total yards. Thomas' longest reception was for an incredible 86 yards.
Custer County's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Sangre de Cristo, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-6.
As of now, neither Custer County nor Sangre de Cristo have any future games scheduled.
