The Sotomayor WILDCATS will head out to take on the Stevens Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sotomayor is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Sotomayor proved they can win big on Friday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Central Catholic 7-5. The victory was nothing new for the WILDCATS as they're now sitting on three straight.

Evan Fine was a standout: he scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Angel Mendoza was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Stevens came up short against Warren on Friday and fell 4-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Falcons in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost five in a row.

Jordan Vargas made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

Sotomayor's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Stevens, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Sotomayor came out on top in a nail-biter against Stevens in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. Will Sotomayor repeat their success, or does Stevens has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
