Soccer Game Preview: Springtown vs. Castleberry

The Springtown Porcupines will head out on the road to square off against the Castleberry Lions at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Springtown's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Springtown came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 8-0 to Lake Dallas. While losing is never fun, Springtown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 486th, while Lake Dallas are ranked 118th).

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Castleberry was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They fell just short of Lake Worth by a score of 1-0.

Castleberry's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Springtown, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 7-3-1.

Springtown skirted past Castleberry 1-0 in their previous meeting back in February of 2025. Will the Porcupines repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
