Football Recap: Trousdale County Comes Up Short

Trousdale County extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 1-7. They lost 39-13 to the Gordonsville Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 264th, while the Tigers are ranked 78th).

As for Gordonsville, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.1 points on average this season.

Turner Bucher had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 166 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 carries. Those 166 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was J Foster, who threw for 106 yards and one TD on only nine passes.

Coming up, Trousdale County will head out on the road to take on Monterey at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gordonsville, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Red Boiling Springs at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
