Jeff Davis (Hazlehurst, Ga.) jumped out to an early lead against
Atkinson County (Pearson, Ga.) and never looked back on the way to a 18-0 victory on Saturday.
In the first quarter, the Yellowjackets put up six points. Jeff Davis scored on a touchdown run by
Wenner Rodriquez.
After taking the lead on a Rodriquez touchdown run in the first quarter, JD led 6-0 at the half.
The Hazlehurst school grew its lead to 12 points entering the fourth quarter. The Yellowjackets' lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown run by Rodriquez.
The victory was a step in the right direction for Jeff Davis, which was coming off a 32-6 defeat at the hands of Appling County in its previous game.
