Basketball Recap: Mt. Olive Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Mt. Olive had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 43-28 victory over the Dupo Tigers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Mt. Olive's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-10. As for Dupo, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Olive will face off against East Alton-Wood River at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dupo has already played their next contest (against McKinley Classical Leadership Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
