Softball Recap: Pinnacle Panthers vs. Water Canyon Wildcats
Pinnacle extended their losing streak to 13 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-13 in the process. They came up short against the Water Canyon Wildcats, falling 25-15. Even if the Panthers couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Water Canyon's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-19. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Water Canyon's part, Esther Nielson was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with eight stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. Those runs were Nielson's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Tammara Johnson, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with 11 stolen bases and four runs.
Pinnacle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Water Canyon, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 21-4 loss against North Sevier on the 3rd.
