Recap: Erie First Christian Academy vs. Northwestern Wildcats
Erie First Christian Academy had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 55-48 win over Northwestern on Tuesday. The win was just what Erie First Christian Academy needed coming off of a 63-42 loss in their prior game.
Erie First Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Avery Collins, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Collins has scored at least a third of Erie First Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Simon Gonzalez, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Erie First Christian Academy's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-11. As for Northwestern, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-13.
Erie First Christian Academy will head out on the road to square off against Iroquois at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northwestern, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mercyhurst Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mercyhurst Prep presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Northwestern in Pennsylvania (Mercyhurst Prep is ranked 344th, while Northwestern is ranked 703rd).
