Softball Recap: Wesclin Sets Scoring Season-High Against Roxana

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wesclin). They put the hurt on the Roxana Shells with a sharp 18-2 win on Wednesday. The Warriors not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 16, 2024 (when they won 20-4).

Katie Billhartz was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chloe Nordmann, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ariana Middleton, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Wesclin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Wesclin's victory bumped their record up to 7-16. As for Roxana, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-19.

Wesclin didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-2 win against Trico on the 15th. Roxana does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
