Football Game Preview: Plano East Panthers vs. Allen Eagles

Plano East is 0-8 against Allen since November of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a proper cat-fight when Plano East took on McKinney on Friday. The Panthers came out on top against the Lions by a score of 20-13.

Plano East found their leader in freshman Treyce Seldon, who rushed for 88 yards and two TDs on only ten carries.

Meanwhile, Allen strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past McKinney Boyd 63-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Eagles' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked first, while the Broncos are ranked 329th).

Plano East better keep an eye on Jeremiah Daoud. He was instrumental in Allen's win, rushing for 89 yards and one score, while also throwing for 178 yards and one touchdown. Those 89 rushing yards gave Daoud a new career-high. Lyndon Spriggs was another key player, rushing for 46 yards and a pair of TDs.

Allen's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Plano East, their win bumped their record up to 2-7.

Plano East took a serious blow against Allen when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 48-7. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Eagles' Jaden Hambric, who rushed for 98 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries. Now that the Panthers know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
