Volleyball Game Preview: Wasatch Academy Tigers vs. Salt Lake Academy Griffins

Wasatch Academy hasn't had much luck against Salt Lake Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Griffins at 7:00 p.m.

Wasatch Academy is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Carbon.

While Wasatch Academy was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Carbon's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-17, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Salt Lake Academy made easy work of Rockwell on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-10, 25-15.

Salt Lake Academy found their leader in sophomore Ryder Harrison, who had six aces and four digs. Those six aces set a new season-high mark for Harrison.

Salt Lake Academy couldn't miss and finished the game having scored on 40% of their attack attempts. The last time their hitting percentage was this high was back in April of 2024.

Salt Lake Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Wasatch Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
