For the second straight game, Independence will face off against Glendale. The Patriots will challenge the Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Independence is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.3 runs per game this season.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Independence and Glendale, and Independence kept the tradition alive. The Patriots' pitcher stepped up to hand the Cardinals a 4-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won three in a row.

Not much got past Mariana Perez Vargas, who gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Glendale off the board.

On the hitting side, Independence's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Annabelle Mendez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
