Sherman is 1-9 against Denison since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Sherman Bearcats will face off against the Denison Yellow Jackets at 6:45 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Sherman is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Anna 25-15 on Tuesday. With that win, the Bearcats brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

Azaria Dube and Brennah Mask did most of the damage at the plate: Dube got on base in five of her six plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and three runs, while Mask scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave Mask a new career-high. Kailiann Causey also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Sherman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .698. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Denison got the win against Greenville on Tuesday by a conclusive 16-2. The Yellow Jackets haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Emmerson Dickinson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in February. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Addison Ciaccio was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Katie-Lynn Douglas, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
The win got Denison back to even at 9-9. As for Sherman, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-13-1.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Sherman hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .390. However, it's not like Denison struggles in that department as they've averaged .363. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
