Basketball Recap: Eureka Picks Up 13th Straight Win at Home

Eureka had won seven straight games and Megan Johnson did her part to make it eight on Saturday. The Eureka Vandals put the hurt on the Owyhee Braves with a sharp 44-24 victory thanks in part to Johnson, who dropped a triple-double on 12 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played.

Natalie Gray was another key player, going 7 for 14 en route to 15 points and five steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in December of 2024.

Eureka pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.6 points. As for Owyhee, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eureka will take on Lund at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eureka's defense has only allowed 19.2 points per game this season, so Lund's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Owyhee, they will challenge Carlin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
