Basketball Game Preview: Juniata Valley Hornets vs. Huntingdon Bearcats

Juniata Valley is 1-9 against Huntingdon since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Juniata Valley Hornets will take on the Huntingdon Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Juniata Valley will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating Bellwood-Antis, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Juniata Valley came out on top against Bellwood-Antis by a score of 73-66 on Monday.

Meanwhile, Huntingdon had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 62-40 margin over the Eagles. The Bearcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Juniata Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points over those games. As for Huntingdon, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Juniata Valley came up short against Huntingdon in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 71-64. Can Juniata Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
