Basketball Game Preview: Russellville Panthers vs. Logan County Cougars

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Russellville Panthers face off against the Logan County Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday... Russellville has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 16.

Last Tuesday, Russellville had to suffer through a 79-31 loss at the hands of Warren East. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Raiders are ranked 44th).

Meanwhile, Logan County hadn't done well against South Warren recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Logan County skirted past South Warren 42-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since December 10, 2024.

Russellville's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Logan County, their record now sits at 10-7.

Russellville came up short against Logan County in their previous meeting on January 9th, falling 69-59. Can Russellville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
