Basketball Recap: Williamstown Takes a Loss

Williamstown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Walton-Verona Bearcats and fell 68-17. The Demons lost against the Bearcats in their previous head to head back in January of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 44-33 score last time.

Williamstown's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Walton-Verona, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Williamstown and Newport will round out the year against one another at at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Walton-Verona, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pendleton County at 3:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
