Basketball Recap: Harmony Science Academy Takes a Loss

If Harmony Science Academy was feeling good fresh off their 72-38 takedown of Houston Heights (old) last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Harmony Science Academy Tigers received a blow on Monday as they fell 71-54 to the Bob Hope Eagles. The Tigers have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Harmony Science Academy lost, don't look at Kethen Randle. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 boards. Randle is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last 26 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Sparrow, who posted 12 points and six assists.

Even though they lost, Harmony Science Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Harmony Science Academy's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-9. As for Bob Hope, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Tekoa Academy the next time they take the court. Harmony Science Academy will host Tekoa Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Bob Hope will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
