Cypress Bay extended their postseason success on Friday against Palmetto. They had just enough and edged the Palmetto Panthers out 1-0. Give the Lightning's defense some credit: that's the team's sixth straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Daniela Duran, who's now up to 16 this season.

Cypress Bay pushed their record up to 16-1-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five games. As for Palmetto, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-5-1.

Coming up, Cypress Bay will be playing at home against Stoneman Douglas at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Stoneman Douglas will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Cypress Bay surely won't give up without a fight. Palmetto does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
