Baseball Recap: Spanish Fork Gets the Win

While Spanish Fork put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Emery. The Dons came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 5-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dons.

The result came thanks to Tilden Scott's shutout, as he gave up just a hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Boston Duvall was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Nixon Warren, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Spanish Fork was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in six consecutive matches.

Spanish Fork's record now sits at 5-12. As for Emery, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Spanish Fork will be playing at home against Cedar Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Dons are facing the Aviators at the right time seeing as the Aviators are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Emery, they will head out to take on Richfield at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
