Volleyball Recap: Springville Red Devils vs. Maple Mountain Golden Eagles
Springville came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles. The defeat continues a trend for the Red Devils in their meetings with the Golden Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-16, 25-18.
Evan Straw paced Springville's offense, picking up seven kills. Straw got some help from Reis Brothers and his 19 assists. Finally, Nephi Spendlove kept Springville's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.
Springville's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Maple Mountain, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-1.
