Basketball Recap: Epic South Extends Home Winning Streak to Nine

With a playoff win on the line, Epic South rose to the challenge on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Cardozo Judges 55-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Epic South has posted since January 14, 2024.

Cardozo's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Brister, who posted 18 points. The match was Brister's fifth in a row with at least 17 points. Yaw Pabi Jr. was another key player, putting up nine points.

Epic South pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.1 points over those games. As for Cardozo, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-7.
