Basketball Recap: Lincoln Southeast Takes a Loss

Lincoln Southeast was the 53-43 winner over Papillion-LaVista when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lincoln Southeast Knights were outmatched by the Papillion-LaVista Monarchs and fell 85-48.

Papillion-LaVista's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rease Murtaugh, who went 6-for-9 from beyond the arc to rack up 26 points and six boards. Murtaugh's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taliyah Jackson, who went 6-for-7 on her way to 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Lincoln Southeast has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Papillion-LaVista, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

Lincoln Southeast wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 43-39 loss against Marian on the 8th. As for Papillion-LaVista, they have also already played their next game, a 68-40 win against Fremont on the 7th.
